Introduction

Most businesses recognise a need to reduce their operational costs so that they can become more profitable. One of the major costs is those associated with voice communications. Over the last four years the industry has seen the arrival of IP Telephony, with major cost savings being one of its many benefits. Yet some businesses, either do not understand how IP Telephony can benefit them, or are reluctant to change to a new “unproven” technology.

That fact is IP Telephony is here now, and is the future of voice communications. This is widely endorsed by all of the major PBX vendors, who either have products available today, or have switched their entire R&D budgets to producing IP Telephony based offerings.
