PlanNet21 is a Cisco Systems Wireless LAN specialized partner. As a wireless LAN partner, PlanNet21 engineers have been trained and certified in the installation and configuration of the Cisco Aironet range of wireless LAN products. The engineers at PlanNet21 have designed and installed numerous wireless networks based on the Aironet range of products. These include both internal LANs and external building-to-building connectivity. Aironet products can be used for both voice and data connectivity.

PlanNet21 is also a Cisco Systems IP Telephony specialized partner. IP Telephony involves using an IP based PBX to provide phone services with a company. There are many advantages to this technology as voice services can easily be integrated with data applications when everything uses the same IP transport platform. Recent innovations in wireless technology allow third party wireless IP phone vendors to use the Aironet wireless Access Points to provide network connectivity for their wireless IP phones. This facilitates a very cost effective rollout of wireless internal phones in conjunction with an IP Telephony rollout. One such wireless IP phone vendor is Spectralink. PlanNet21 is the Spectralink partner for Ireland.

The initial step to any wireless rollout is to perform a site survey. For internal installations this identifies the optimum locations for placement of access points. For external installations it verifies proper line of sight. PlanNet21 can perform the site survey and based on the results design the wireless network that best fits the client's requirements. We can then provide the equipment and install the system for the client. PlanNet21 will fully test the system before putting it into production for the client.
